Google Gemini Charged Me $17 Even Though the Plan Was Advertised as Free for One Year

I created a Google Gemini membership about one month ago. During registration, the screen clearly stated “1 year free,” so I started the membership believing that no charges would apply. However, on December 30, 2025, I noticed that $17 was charged to my Halkbank debit card.
As a student who is already struggling financially, being charged for a service that was advertised as free has caused me serious hardship. I find it misleading that I was billed despite the clear “1 year free” statement shown in the advertisement and on the signup screen.
If this membership was truly supposed to be free, I demand that this charge be immediately canceled and that the full $17 be refunded to my card. If this charge was made due to an error, I request a clear and transparent explanation be provided to me.
