Garanti Bank Unauthorized Transaction and Cybersecurity Concerns


On November 6, 2023, my Garanti Bank account was debited for ₺4,263.75 for an unauthorised transaction. I'd want to emphasise that this money was withdrawn without my knowledge or agreement. I noticed that this purchase was conducted using the website asos.com. However, I did not approve this transaction. The simplicity with which such a significant money was withdrawn demonstrates the obvious flaws in Garanti Bank's cybersecurity and consumer data protection. It is unacceptable for a reputed financial institution such as Garanti Bank to fail to protect its customers' information while permitting unauthorised access to their accounts. The breach of the bank's security firewall, and the subsequent victimisation of many clients, including myself, highlight Garanti Bank's susceptibility and inadequacies in resolving this issue. Such a huge security flaw not only diminishes client trust, but also raises serious concerns about the bank's credibility. Garanti Bank must swiftly repay the unauthorised debit of ₺4,263.75 from my account. This return is critical not only for my happiness, but also for the bank's capacity to reestablish consumer confidence and trustworthiness. Finally, Garanti Bank must take serious cybersecurity precautions and swiftly execute the appropriate procedures to address client complaints. The bank's incompetence in this situation calls into doubt its dedication to client security and has resulted in the victimisation of numerous customers, including myself. I demand an immediate return for the unauthorised debit from my account, as well as the installation of measures to prevent similar instances in the future.
