Booking.com Charged More Than Quoted for Four Seasons Vacation in Cyprus
On May 22, 2023, I booked a stay at Four Seasons Vacation in Cyprus through Booking.com for July 30 to August 5. The price displayed for six nights was ₺19,234, and there was no indication on the screen that this amount was in euros or subject to currency conversion. Unlike other travel platforms, Booking.com provided no information about exchange rates in parentheses or elsewhere.
We were informed that payment would be made at the property. However, upon arrival, we were told the price was in euros, not Turkish lira, and we were charged ₺26,775 instead. When we tried to address this discrepancy, we were informed that Booking.com Turkey is no longer operational, and no one assisted us.
This lack of transparency and support is unacceptable. I demand Booking.com correct this error and provide a refund for the additional amount charged. Clear pricing and communication are essential for customer trust.
