Ford Mondeo's Dangerous Defect: They Ignore Recall, Demands Exorbitant Fees

Yesterday, while shifting my Ford Mondeo into park and preparing to exit the vehicle, I noticed it started to move on its own. I quickly got back inside, pulled the brake, and managed to stop it. The car remained in gear, so I opened the hood to investigate and found that the transmission cable had come loose. This is a known chronic issue that Ford has recalled in many countries, but in Türkiye, Otosan continues to ignore the problem. They are putting people’s lives at risk by hiding this recall from their customers. As shown in the images, they insist the entire transmission cable must be replaced due to a small bushing issue and are demanding a fee of ₺36,000. Who will put an end to this exploitation? When I called the solution center, they simply said the vehicle isn’t covered and treated me as if I were imagining the issue. Stay away from Ford—don’t even consider them. I will be filing an official complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Board.
