Between 2014 and 2019, Ford Mondeo and Kuga vehicles equipped with the 1.5 Ecoboost engine were manufactured with defective engine cylinder blocks. Ford acknowledged this issue and issued a technical service bulletin, initiating a recall for free block replacements at authorized service centers. However, in Turkey, they are charging ₺300,000 for this service. This means they are turning their admitted manufacturing defect into an opportunity for profit. Instead of replacing the defective part at no cost, as they should, they are exploiting the situation by demanding exorbitant fees, causing undue hardship for vehicle owners.
