2016 Fiat Punto 1.4 Airbag Crack


I own a 2016 Fiat Punto 1.4 gasoline/LPG with 92,400 km on the odometer. Recently, I noticed a crack on the front passenger-side airbag cover. I took my car to the authorized Fiat Umur service center in Mardin, where they inspected the issue and prepared a report. Despite acknowledging that it wasn't due to user error and mentioning that similar problems have been observed in many Fiat vehicles, indicating a chronic issue related to the use of subpar materials and possible manufacturing defects, Fiat is demanding a staggering 29,000 TL for the replacement part. Their offer includes a 60% goodwill gesture from the service center and a 40% customer contribution. Despite exceeding the 10-year and 150,000 km criteria for free replacement, I am requesting Fiat/TOFAŞ to honor their responsibility and provide a complimentary replacement. Failure to do so will lead me to pursue all available legal options.
