I ordered a product worth €112 from abroad, and the shipment arrived in Turkey through FedEx. After the package entered Turkey, I was asked to pay a customs brokerage fee of $333 for customs procedures. Since I did not accept this amount, I stated that I wanted the shipment to be returned.
I contacted both FedEx and the sender, Oner Active. Both sides told me there would be no issue with the return process and that the shipment would be sent back to the sender. Relying on this information, I waited for the return process to be completed.
Today, however, I received a message from FedEx stating that the sender did not accept the shipment and that the product would be abandoned at customs. Changing the process at the last moment with contradictory information, after repeatedly saying the shipment would be returned, is a clear failure in process management and has caused me serious inconvenience.
It is unacceptable to demand a $333 brokerage fee for a product worth only €112, to handle the return process without transparency, and to provide conflicting information. For my shipment with tracking number 399502970582, I request that FedEx share the return correspondence allegedly made with the sender, clearly explain how the return process proceeded and why it ended this way, and provide a satisfactory explanation for the incorrect and contradictory information given from the beginning.
