I Face Activation Failure and Overpriced Service on eSIM io

June 20, 2025 12:35 PM410

I decided to try eSIM io during my trip to Montenegro, mostly because the service is so heavily advertised everywhere. Before traveling, I loaded $23 USD into my account and purchased a 20 GB data package.

However, once I landed at the airport and tried to activate it, the eSIM simply would not work. I followed every instruction carefully and attempted multiple times, but activation never happened. To make matters worse, I met other Turkish travelers at the airport who had also purchased eSIM io and experienced the same problem. This clearly shows the issue is not isolated.

I attempted to contact eSIM io support, but I never received any response. It seems the company focuses more on advertising than actually delivering a functional service or assisting customers.

As a result, I was left stranded at the airport without internet, along with my baby and spouse, which caused significant stress and frustration. In the end, I had no choice but to buy a local SIM package — 500 GB for just €15 — which not only worked flawlessly but was also far more affordable than eSIM io.

This shows how overpriced and unreliable eSIM io really is. I feel deceived by their misleading advertising and frustrated by the lack of customer support.

I am requesting a full refund of $23 USD for the unusable package and expect eSIM io to take responsibility for selling overpriced services that do not work as promised.
