I purchased a Dyson V12 cordless vacuum, and although I didn’t start using it immediately, I’ve only been using it regularly for the past 1.5 years. Lately, I’ve encountered a very frustrating and consistent issue: every time I turn on the device to start cleaning, it suddenly shuts off on its own. When I try to turn it back on, it won’t start on the first attempt. It only begins working after the second or sometimes third try—and then finally continues normally.
I’ve tested this with every attachment, and the same problem happens across all of them. I contacted Dyson support, and at first, they told me they would send a new main body. But shortly after, they said it was a mistake and that I’d need to send it to service at my own expense because the warranty has expired.
This is incredibly frustrating. I bought this vacuum with the belief that Dyson stands for quality, and I’ve taken exceptional care of the device—especially regarding filter maintenance and cleanliness. Despite that, I’m dealing with what appears to be a chronic hardware issue, far too early in the product’s life.
I find it unacceptable that I now have to pay for a repair when the problem is clearly a manufacturing fault that surfaced shortly after regular use began. Dyson needs to take accountability for this recurring defect and resolve my issue without charging me.
