I Face Unintended Yearly Subscription Charge on Duolingo English App
I recently discovered that Duolingo charged a yearly subscription fee of ₺969.99 from my account for its English learning app. This purchase was not made knowingly by me. Occasionally, my young daughter uses the app, and if she accidentally initiated this subscription, she did so without understanding what it meant.
Upon noticing the charge, I immediately canceled the subscription to prevent further payments. The subscription was only active for five days, during which no significant usage took place. Therefore, I kindly request a refund of the subscription fee, minus the amount corresponding to the short usage period.
This situation has caused me financial discomfort, as I had no intention of purchasing a full-year plan, especially without my consent. I expect Duolingo, as a globally recognized platform, to understand such situations involving minors and unauthorized purchases.
I respectfully request that you process the partial refund for the unused portion of the yearly subscription and confirm the cancellation of any future charges.
Please resolve this matter quickly and restore my trust in your service by handling this accidental subscription fairly.
