Ebebek Baby Bottle Leaks After Following Boil Instructions

Today I purchased a highly recommended product from Ebebek. When I got home, I boiled it as instructed — the box clearly says “boil for 5 minutes.” However, I noticed that it kept leaking afterward. I specifically bought it for colic, and the liquid was not supposed to flow unless the baby was sucking. I called Ebebek customer service, and the representative told me that the product loses its function when boiled. But then what is the point of printing “boil for 5 minutes before use” on the box?
If boiling destroys the feature, why does the packaging instruct parents to do it? Since it’s a baby product, I was denied both exchange and refund, and was redirected to the manufacturer. While they might technically be correct, the explanation I was given makes no sense at all.
