Dollar Rent A Car Orlando: Bait-and-Switch Pricing & Bad Customer Service
I recently rented a car from Dollar Car Rental at Orlando Airport on March 27th. Even though I specifically chose the option that claimed to cover all taxes and fees when I made my reservation online through their website (https://www.dollar.com/reserve?), I was unpleasantly surprised to discover upon reaching the rental desk that I had to pay an extra $124 for taxes and fees. I provided all the necessary documents and highlighted the absence of any reference to these additional fees in the agreement. However, the staff remained adamant that I was obligated to make the extra payment. They were unable to offer any explanation or present any "fine print" that would clarify the reason behind these charges. I felt trapped in paying the additional fees, as I didn't have the convenience of time to cancel my reservation and find another rental counter. It's frustrating that even after bringing up the matter with their customer service, they failed to provide a satisfactory solution. It is important for potential renters to exercise caution when dealing with Dollar Car Rental and carefully review all terms and conditions before making a reservation. In my opinion, I will never again think about renting from a company that participates in such deceptive practices.
