I Can’t Use My DJI Action 3 Standard Combo – Overheats and Battery Dies in 30 Mins
I purchased the DJI Osmo Action 3 Standard Combo on February 5, 2025, after doing careful research. The product specifications claimed up to 180 minutes of battery life, or around 150 minutes in sub-zero temperatures. However, since day one, I’ve only been able to use it for 30–40 minutes at most—nothing close to what was advertised.
At first, I assumed the short runtime might be part of the break-in period for a new device, but the issue never improved. The camera regularly gives overheating warnings, shuts off the screen, and sometimes stops recording entirely and powers off. On top of that, the videos I manage to record often experience lag and playback stutter partway through.
I sent it to the authorized service center with a detailed explanation. They returned it saying no issues were found. When I called, they told me to continue using it, and if the problem recurs, to record it and send the unit back again.
That’s exactly what I’ve done. The product is now back at service, along with documented photos showing battery percentage and minutes of use, marked 1–2–3 to clearly display the rapid drain. I've never been able to enjoy this product, neither in my car nor on my motorcycle, which was the whole point of buying it.
