DHL Fails to Deliver International Package After Weeks in Customs
I shipped a package to Sumgait, Azerbaijan via Yurtiçi Kargo, and after it was handed over to DHL, it has not been delivered for weeks and I still have not received accurate information. The shipment with DHL tracking number JD014600012392291605 was processed on December 11, 2025, and I was told it would be delivered within three days. I was charged $125 for this service.
According to DHL tracking records, the shipment was routed through Dubai, Bahrain, and back through Dubai to Azerbaijan, and between December 16 and 24 it repeatedly showed status messages indicating it was “subject to customs processing,” yet despite all of this, the package was never delivered. I was told that the package has been sitting in customs in Baku for days and that the recipient would need to travel from Sumgait to the Baku airport to handle customs clearance and pick up the package themselves, placing responsibility on the recipient.
Despite the original three-day delivery promise, there has been significant delay, customs procedures have not been effectively managed, and I have not received a formal, written explanation. This situation has caused serious hardship due to lost time and the high shipping cost.
I request that DHL provide a written and clear explanation of where the shipment currently is and the definitive delivery date, that the delivery be completed urgently, that the appropriate compensation or refund process be initiated for the hardship I have experienced, and that the customs handling issues be investigated in detail. It is extremely disappointing that a global carrier would cause such a long delay and fail to provide adequate communication.
