I Got a 7-Day Ban in Counter-Strike After Power Outage Disconnected My Match

April 17, 2025 2:52 PM6

While playing a competitive match in Counter-Strike, my house experienced a sudden power outage, which caused me to lose internet and get disconnected from the game. Even though the disconnect was completely out of my control, I was slapped with a 7-day ban as if I had intentionally left the match.

I didn’t rage quit or abandon my team—I lost connection due to a real-life issue. It's incredibly frustrating that the system doesn’t distinguish between technical problems and actual misconduct. Players spend both money and time on this game, and we all have lives. Sometimes people need to step away or get disconnected unexpectedly. Is there seriously no way to appeal this? Penalizing loyal players for things they can’t control is not fair. This rigid system needs to change.
