Citroën Leaves 8-Month-Old ë-C4 in Service for Months Without Replacement Car
I purchased my brand-new Citroën ë-C4 in June 2025, and although the vehicle is only 8 months old, it was taken into service at the Tekirdağ–Çorlu Çetaş Citroën authorized service center with a damage record opened. Despite the fact that this is a vehicle under warranty and essential for daily use, I was initially informed that the part required for the repair would need to be sourced from abroad and that the vehicle would therefore remain in service for a long period. However, I was never informed—intentionally or unintentionally—about the need for a replacement vehicle during this process. Later, during my communication with Citroën Headquarters, I was clearly told that when parts are sourced from abroad, a replacement vehicle must be provided to prevent customer hardship. Despite this, the authorized service center took a contradictory stance, stating that such a practice did not exist on their side, effectively avoiding responsibility and shifting the burden onto the customer. The fact that the same dealer also sold me the vehicle has further damaged my trust. I was told that my vehicle would remain in service for approximately two months, while I would only be able to benefit from insurance-provided replacement coverage for 15 days. In a situation where the parts supply process is entirely dependent on the brand and service organization, I do not accept that the remaining approximately 45 days of inconvenience—financial, psychological, and directly affecting my daily life—should be imposed on me as a consumer. Creating such a long repair period for a vehicle that is only 8 months old, failing to provide proper information from the outset, and giving guidance that contradicts the information I received from headquarters are not compatible with Citroën’s corporate responsibility and customer satisfaction principles. Therefore, I request that the necessary investigation be carried out regarding the Tekirdağ–Çorlu Çetaş Citroën authorized service center and the relevant personnel, and that a replacement vehicle be provided to me throughout the parts supply period. Otherwise, I would like to state that I will exercise all my legal rights, including applying to the Consumer Arbitration Board and other legal authorities.
