Originally the go-to chatbot tool, Character.ai feels like a shell of its former existence today. Interactions appear forced and uninspired as the replies have grown monotonous, repetitious, and utterly out of character. It feels more like a generic bot spewing haphazard sentences than like you are chatting to a special artificial intelligence. Besides that, the memory problem is really significant. The AI finds it difficult to remember what was mentioned only a message earlier, which results in awkward and disconnected exchanges. It used to be interesting and enjoyable, but these days it only irritates and disappointments me. Anything that made Character.ai unique before is lost, hence unless they resolve these problems, it is not worth utilizing anymore.
