Carjet and Yours Car Rental Refuse Refund After Demanding Extra Fees
In July 2026, I booked a rental car through Carjet to pick up at Izmir Airport, and €315.24 was charged to my credit card. The rental period was scheduled for a timeframe through the end of the same month.
When I went to pick up the vehicle, they demanded a €1,000 security deposit, but their card terminal failed to process the payment. I specifically opened my banking app at that moment to check whether a authorization request or pending charge for €1,000 appeared, but no attempt or approval request showed up. Despite this, the representative told me that instead of taking a €1,000 deposit, they could provide the car without a deposit if I paid an extra €300. Finding these terms completely unfair and misleading, I refused, and I left without making any additional payment or receiving the vehicle.
When I subsequently contacted Carjet and Yours Car Rental, they implied that actions were taken as if I had signed paperwork, disclaiming all responsibility. Although I requested that they send me the documents they claim I signed, I received no response. Carjet simply directed me to contact the rental company directly and took no clear action to resolve the issue. Consequently, even though I never used the vehicle, the €315.24 I paid through Carjet was not refunded.
Due to the conduct of both Carjet and the rental company that failed to deliver the vehicle, I suffered significant hardship, was left without a car during my planned trip, and paid a substantial sum without receiving any service. I demand the full and immediate refund of my €315.24 payment to my credit card, a proper investigation into these unfair and misleading practices, and necessary measures taken to prevent similar grievances.
