I used to enjoy Candy Crush Saga as a relaxing pastime—it was like therapy for me. That all changed the moment I made a single in-app purchase. Ever since that purchase, the booster ads that used to help me through tough levels have completely disappeared. It’s obvious the game is designed to punish players who spend money by removing free ad-based boosters and making progress nearly impossible unless you keep buying more.
If I had known this would happen, I would have never made that purchase. I’ve reached out to the developers multiple times to get the ads back, but no solution has been offered. It’s frustrating and unfair. Instead of enjoying the game, now I get stressed out every time I open it because it no longer lets me play freely.
Candy Crush seems to have adopted a manipulative tactic: lure players in with free support, and once they spend money, strip away those free benefits to force more purchases. I strongly advise others—do not make any purchases if you want to keep the game enjoyable. I refuse to quit the game, but I also refuse to be exploited. King needs to fix this unfair system immediately.
