I booked Central Park Hotel in London through Booking for June 19-21, 2024, and prepaid as per the hotel's policy. Upon arrival at 00:30 on June 20th, I was informed that my room wasn't available. They directed us to stay at Townhouse Apollo Hotel across the street for one night. Due to the late hour, we reluctantly agreed, forced to stay in a subpar hotel that didn't justify the price we paid. The next day, we moved to Central Park Hotel, only to find construction noise from scaffolding erected on its exterior waking us at 7 AM. If I had seen these details on the site, I would never have booked this hotel. I prepaid $510.38 for 2 nights at the time of booking, expecting a slight discount for doing so. Booking didn't assist when I called to complain. They gave me excuses like "You checked in late, so the hotel can do as they please." I've been booking through Booking for years and never had such an issue. I can book directly with hotels. I chose Booking for trust, but after this, I won't use them again.
