About a month ago, my dermatologist prescribed the Bioderma Sebium Mat Control Anti-Shine Cream. I purchased it from a licensed pharmacy for over ₺800 and began using it, keeping it in my makeup bag at normal room temperature. However, today I noticed that the product had gone bad. The texture and smell had clearly changed, making it unusable.
What shocked me the most was that the packaging states the product is good for 6 months after opening. I’ve barely used it for four weeks, and my treatment is still ongoing. When I contacted the pharmacy, they kindly reached out to the brand on my behalf. Unfortunately, Bioderma’s response was extremely disappointing—they said they would only accept returns if the product was defective from the beginning. In this case, they blamed the issue on “user error.”
I followed standard storage guidelines and was never told it needed refrigeration. If this product is that sensitive to temperature, it should clearly state “refrigerate after opening” or “store below X°C” on the packaging. I feel completely let down by the lack of accountability from Bioderma.
I liked the product’s performance initially, but I’m no longer willing to repurchase it—why should I spend another ₺800 only to watch it spoil again? This experience makes me question the brand’s reliability and customer care. Bioderma needs to take better responsibility for the stability of its skincare products and provide real support when things go wrong.
