Badoo Match Blackmailed Me With Photos

57

I met someone through the Badoo mobile app and later we started communicating on WhatsApp. We exchanged sexually explicit photos mutually. Afterwards, this person began blackmailing me using my photos and threatened to send them to my family. He also claimed to have accessed my family’s personal information through a “panel” and sent me what he said were my family members’ identity details.

He demanded $229 from me via bank transfer (IBAN), saying that if I didn’t pay, he would send the photos to my family. My Badoo account was registered to my phone number, and after this incident, I deleted my account. I live in Bartın, and the other person is in Düzce. The blackmail attempt happened once, on November 18; when I told him I wouldn’t send money, he cut communication. I informed him that I would file a complaint with the prosecutor’s office, and after that, he completely disappeared. I have his name, phone number, and screenshots of the threatening messages.

What I expect from Badoo is for this person to be identified and for the necessary actions to be taken. I also want enhanced security measures to prevent similar incidents from happening to others. Additionally, as a paid membership user, I expect stronger safety and moderation on the platform.
