Avis Rental Car Dusseldorf Airport Office - Loss Of Property

On 11 December 2025, I rented a vehicle from the AVIS Cologne Airport office, with the return scheduled for 14 December 2025 at the AVIS Düsseldorf Airport office. When I returned the vehicle on 14 December to the Düsseldorf Airport office, I accidentally left my tablet inside the car. This tablet is very valuable to me both financially and personally. I realized the situation shortly after handing over the vehicle. As soon as I became aware that I had left the tablet in the vehicle, I tried to contact the AVIS Düsseldorf Airport office using the phone number provided, during the stated working hours until 11:00 PM. However, no one answered the phone. I also called the general customer service line several times, but again I could not reach anyone. Since my flight time was very close, I did not have the chance to go back to the car and check it myself. After returning to my home country, I immediately informed AVIS customer relations by email and shared the details of my reservation with the confirmation number 967658473. In addition, my cousin living in Cologne contacted AVIS directly about the situation. Despite all these efforts, we received no concrete feedback or useful information, only automatic responses, and no clear explanation about my lost tablet. I find it very disappointing that AVIS customer relations and the Düsseldorf Airport office have not provided any clear information or solution regarding my lost tablet, and this lack of communication has increased my grievance over time. I expect AVIS to urgently investigate what happened to the tablet that was left in the vehicle, to find it and send it to me. If the tablet cannot be found or returned to me, I request that the current value of the tablet be paid to me as compensation. I am sharing this experience so that similar issues do not occur for other customers in the future and so that AVIS improves its approach to customer service and the handling of lost items.
