Austrian Airlines delayed my flight and I missed my connection, how can I claim refund?

If Austrian Airlines delayed your flight and you missed your connection and want to claim a refund and/or compensation;

Contact Austrian Airlines support / Customer Relations with a clear escalation;

• State that Austrian Airlines’ delay caused you to miss your connection, disrupted your itinerary, and you want compensation or a refund
• Provide your booking reference (PNR), flight numbers/dates, detailed itinerary, and how long the delay was
• Attach screenshots/emails of the delay notifications, your boarding pass, and any rebooking details
• Describe the impact: missed onward flight, extra accommodation/transport costs, or loss of plans

Ask them to;

• Confirm why the delay occurred and that it was their responsibility
• Rebook you on the next available flights at no extra cost or give you a full refund if the delay makes the trip impractical
• Pay compensation under EU Regulation EC-261/2004 (cash, bank transfer, or the airline’s prepaid card) up to €600 per passenger if eligible
• Provide written confirmation of whether you’ll receive a refund, compensation amount, and any reimbursements for expenses (meals, hotel)
• Give you a timeline for the refund/compensation processing and a formal reference number

If the problem remains unresolved after contacting support, consider filing a complaint on Xolvie to raise awareness and pursue a resolution.
