My Asics Shoes Tore After Minimal Use – Warranty Denied Without Proper Inspection

I purchased an Asics pair 1.5 years ago as a secondary pair of shoes, only wearing them a maximum of 20 times, mostly for international travel. Despite this limited use, the upper surface developed deep cuts, as shown in the photos.
I sent them in for inspection, but Asics returned them exactly as they were, with no repairs or explanation. After checking other complaints, I realized many customers receive the same standard rejection message. When I called customer service, they asked irrelevant questions, like whether I wiped them with a wet tissue or if I untied my shoelaces when taking them off—none of which explain why the shoes fell apart so quickly.
If a shoe barely worn 20 times ends up like this, what does that say about Asics’ quality? They refuse to stand behind their products. Think twice before buying!
