Arçelik Appliances Warranty Issue and Unresolved Documentation Error
In July 2024, I purchased an apartment from a building completed in 2022. The apartment had never been lived in before and included an Arçelik built-in kitchen set and two Arçelik air conditioners. Like all the other residents in the complex, I contacted Arçelik's authorized service to register the products for initial usage and to activate the warranty. The service technician removed the packaging, started the appliances for the first time, and suggested I purchase an additional 4-year warranty extension. He assured me that the initial warranty would start from July 13, 2024, and with the extension, my products would be covered for 6-7 more years. Finding this reasonable, I paid 7,465 TL via credit card for the extended warranties for both the kitchen set and the air conditioners.
However, despite being told that the warranty would start from July 13, 2024, I was later informed that the warranty for the air conditioners was activated from the purchase date (2022). It was clear that these products had never been used, and I extended the warranty based on the 7-year coverage promised to me. I have an email from your authorized service acknowledging a documentation error and confirming that my products are indeed covered for 7 years.
I am writing because, although Arçelik's call center has acknowledged my rightful claim, they have stated that the documentation error cannot be corrected. How can Arçelik claim to prioritize customer satisfaction while refusing to correct an acknowledged mistake that affects the customer's rights? Is this how a major company like Arçelik should handle such situations? I request that my issue be resolved promptly and that the correct warranty terms are applied to my appliances.
