Apple Charged $47 for a Persona Beauty Camera Subscription That Stopped Working
On February 28, 2026, I purchased a one-year gift subscription to the Persona: Beauty Camera app through the Apple App Store for my sibling for approximately $47. The subscription was supposed to remain valid until February 2027, but my sibling was only able to use the app until June and then could no longer use it at all.
My sibling was already unable to use the app before changing phones, and after switching to a new phone, the app only became accessible after requesting another payment. Without our knowledge, another three-month subscription was also purchased. The app currently opens, but I have already paid approximately $47 for a one-year subscription. It is not acceptable for a product purchased through the Apple App Store to be restricted in this way and for another payment to be requested simply because the user changed phones.
I request that the one-year subscription I paid for be fully restored and remain active through February 2027, as stated at the time of purchase, and that the additional three-month subscription charge be refunded. I also request that the periods during which we were unable to use the subscription be investigated and that appropriate steps be taken to resolve the inconvenience and loss we experienced.
