Anadolu Sigorta Refused to Cancel My Travel Policy Despite Meeting Withdrawal Rights

On 04/09/2024, through your agency, I arranged a European educational travel insurance policy (distance contract) over the phone for my son's educational trip to Italy, specifying the travel date of 14/09/2024. The policy was issued with the same date as the start date. However, the consulate clearly informed me that the policy would not be accepted because the start date of the policy and the travel date are the same. As a result of this, I arranged a second policy suitable for the travel date through the nearest agency and insurance company. I then requested the cancellation of the existing policy by exercising my right of withdrawal (within the legal period and without the policy being used) through my agent. Despite all the correspondence and the documents submitted, the cancellation process has still not been completed. This situation should be considered a serious negligence and a lack of care for customer satisfaction. For years, I have purchased numerous car and home insurance policies from your company, which are still ongoing. This situation has raised serious concerns about your ability to compensate in the event of significant damage. According to Article 4 of the General Insurance Terms and Conditions, it is clearly stated that I have the right to cancel within 7 days, which you have failed to honor. Due to the extended back-and-forth correspondence, I no longer have any trust in your company. Even the duplicate policy is itself a sufficient reason for cancellation, yet you failed to act. My son is currently in Italy for his university education, and I am grateful I obtained duplicate insurance from another company. Your refusal to cancel, despite my fulfilling the clear conditions for cancellation, suggests that you would create difficulties in the event of a claim or illness. Our cancellation request was rejected without reason, and no explanation has been provided.
