Amazon Keeps Canceling My Orders Due to Security Reasons Despite 3D Secure Approval
My recent orders placed through Amazon are being canceled shortly after for "security reasons" (they seem to think someone is acting on my behalf!). I use two-factor authentication, the card is in my name, and the transaction is completed with 3D secure approval from the bank. However, the order is canceled within two minutes for the same reason. Despite trying to resolve this issue for a week, it appears to be a system error, and all attempts to fix it have been unsuccessful. To make matters worse, I haven’t received any response to my complaint. They don’t even bother to call and verify if the transaction is suspicious. It's a security scandal at Amazon!
The product that is likely out of stock is shown as available, and transactions are processed. The charge is made on the card, but the stock numbers remain the same, meaning they don't decrease after your transaction... They cancel it, citing your security, because someone made a transaction on your behalf... Their goal is to show heavy traffic on the site, which is a very successful move without any real transactions.
In all other shopping situations, the security issue is eliminated... When Apple products are out of stock, they are likely trying to create demand.
