Amazon Customer Service Caused Replacement Charge After Wet Product Complaint
Some time around the first or second of July 2026, I received my order from the Copper Compression Store on Amazon for Copper Compression Arthritis Gloves, Nude, size XL, under order number 111-9758425-4265025. The outer shipping package and the product packaging looked fine, but when I opened the inner glove package, the inside of the package was wet and the gloves themselves were also wet. I contacted Amazon customer service around July 1–2, 2026 to report that the gloves had arrived wet. I was told by the customer service representative that I could throw the wet gloves away and that a replacement would be sent. Based on this instruction, I disposed of the original wet gloves instead of returning them. Recently, over this past weekend, I saw an email from Amazon dated September 13, 2026, stating that because I did not return the original item by September 9, 2026, my MasterCard ending in 4816 was charged $28.48 on a replacement expectation. The email specifies an item subtotal of $25.95, tax of $2.53, and a total charge of $28.48 for the same Copper Compression Arthritis Gloves under order number 111-9758425-4265025. I am being charged for an item that I was explicitly told I could discard due to its condition, and which I therefore could not return. I request that the $28.48 charge applied to my MasterCard be fully refunded, as I followed the guidance given by Amazon customer service at the time of the issue.
