Amazon Cancelled iPhone 17 Order But Charged To Card
On 11.03.2026 I placed an order for an iPhone 17 through the Amazon Turkey website and paid ₺75,442.46 with my credit card. The payment was approved by my bank after they called me and I confirmed that the transaction belonged to me. Despite this confirmation, Amazon cancelled my order at the same moment, stating in the e‑mail that it was due to a security reason. If there really was a security concern, I do not understand why the amount was charged to my credit card in the first place and why the order was automatically cancelled after the bank and I had already confirmed the payment. At this point, Amazon both cancelled my order and kept the payment on my card. I contacted Amazon customer service many times about this issue. Each time, they tried to put the responsibility on the bank and could not give clear or logical answers to my questions. I even started to think that I was being misled because the information they gave was inconsistent. They repeatedly said that they had initiated the refund process and that the bank would return the money within 3 business days, but when I contacted my bank, I was told that the amount had indeed been charged and that there was no refund transaction visible on their system. I learned about the cancellation later, when I logged into my account and saw that the order was cancelled; at that moment I had not yet checked my e‑mails. A product for which the full amount has been collected is not being shipped, and on top of that, I am being stalled with standard and contradictory explanations by customer service. I request that Amazon urgently and transparently clarify why my order, which was approved by the bank and paid in full, was cancelled under the pretext of security, and that the ₺75,442.46 charged to my card be refunded immediately without further delay. In addition, I expect Amazon to correct the misleading information given by customer representatives and to ensure that such a situation, where a customer’s money is taken while the product is not delivered and clear information is not provided, is not repeated.
