Alamo Rent A Car Kept My Deposit and Threatened Me
On November 11, 2023, I rented a car from Alamo Rent A Car without initially purchasing insurance. However, on November 12, 2023, I decided to extend the rental period and add insurance coverage. I received my insurance policy via email the same day, confirming that the coverage was applied.
Unfortunately, while the car was parked, another vehicle lightly hit the rear bumper, causing a small crack. Since we didn’t see who was responsible, we were unable to file a claim. When returning the car, Alamo refused to acknowledge my insurance policy, falsely claiming that insurance cannot be added retroactively—even though they emailed me the policy and charged me for it.
Not only did they wrongfully keep my 2,500₺ deposit, but they also tried to access my bank account and later contacted me again demanding more money. An Alamo representative even threatened me, saying, “I’ll take this to a lawyer and get the money from you one way or another.”
This is unacceptable and completely unethical. I demand an immediate refund of my deposit and a resolution to this issue.
