I recently discovered that Akbank T.A.Ş. charged and collected a ₺900 annual membership fee on my credit card ending in 5853, as shown in the July 17, 2024 statement. This practice by Akbank violates the "Unfair Terms in Contracts" provision of the Consumer Protection Act and related legal regulations.
I've learned that many Akbank customers in my social circle haven't been charged this fee, and some who were charged had it refunded. This inconsistency creates inequality among customers and goes against the principle of "Customer Satisfaction."
For these reasons, I object to the annual membership fee on my July 2024 statement and request that the collected fee be deducted from my next statement.
Additionally, I've been unable to submit complaints via email to Akbank's customer service. The system consistently rejects my attempts, leaving me frustrated and unable to communicate my concerns. Despite their advertisements claiming easy access to bank officials and customer service, this has not been my experience.
I urgently request that Akbank address both the unfair fee and the communication issues to ensure customers can easily reach out with their requests and concerns.
