My Luggage Damaged During AJet Flight, Compensation Still Not Provided

On September 7, 2025, during my DAL–BRU flight (with an Istanbul connection) under PNR number 35QQQF, my Lumberjack-brand suitcase was damaged during the airline’s handling process. The wheel of the suitcase had broken off from the body and it was delivered to me in a severely damaged condition. Before leaving the airport, I submitted the required form at the lost & found office and later filed an additional report through AJet’s online form. My family, who contacted customer service in Türkiye, was informed that no further action was required regarding the process. As of today, in order to finalize the case file numbered 250 008 968 7, I am being asked to provide a receipt or proof of purchase for the suitcase, which has become unusable. However, the suitcase was purchased in Istanbul approximately three years ago and paid for in cash, so neither a receipt nor any payment record exists. Since I currently reside in Belgium for my studies and the store is located in Istanbul, obtaining a retroactive receipt is simply not possible. Whether or not a receipt exists does not change the fact that the suitcase was damaged during AJet’s flight. The presence or absence of proof of purchase does not alter the reality that the damage occurred during the airline’s handling process on that specific flight. Considering current economic conditions and inflation, I request reimbursement equivalent to a product of similar quality, or compensation in the form of a replacement suitcase of the same quality class (a Lumberjack large-size suitcase). As I am pursuing a master’s degree in Belgium, I am unable to contact the company directly by phone. When my family in Türkiye reached customer service, they were initially given incomplete or incorrect information, unnecessarily prolonging the process, and later faced additional requests that further complicated the situation. Photos taken at the airport showing the damaged suitcase, its brand label, and the baggage tag have been attached to the application. I kindly request that this matter be resolved without further delay, in a manner that addresses the inconvenience caused.
