Due to a change in my workplace, I used to stay in various Airbnb rooms near my workplace for a few days. Let me mention that I received very positive reviews from all my stays. The latest host I stayed with is now under a legal investigation. While I was at work, the police came to the house and seized all electronic devices, including my laptop from my suitcase, within the scope of a legal investigation that I am not fully aware of, unfortunately. As a result, my laptop is currently at the prosecutor's office. Despite the inconvenience caused by the host, they have never expressed any remorse. I don't have any expectations in that regard, but when I mentioned that I would inform the police about my presence there due to Airbnb, the host started to behave hostilely towards me. The host accused me of causing a hole in the house's linoleum, which I definitely did not do. First, the host claimed a loss of 1500 TL, then increased it to 4500 TL. Then the host wrote inappropriate comments about me. Now, the reason for creating this complaint: Despite sharing the petition I submitted to the prosecutor and all other details with the Airbnb team, they preferred to close my Airbnb account. Meanwhile, the host continues to be listed on Airbnb. The Airbnb team approached the issue so incompetently that I requested the removal of the unjust review written about me. They said they could never remove it due to their transparency policies. When I mentioned that I would take the matter to social media, suddenly their policies seemed to have changed, and they removed the review. After that, I thought the matter was closed, but the host, unable to find what the host was hoping for, created a second complaint. Airbnb called me about this second complaint with a Turkish translator. Strangely, they identified me as the host and the complainant as the guest during the call. So, it's suspicious how they recorded and managed the information. I explained that I was not the host but a guest staying there. I shared the incidents that happened to me: how the police took my laptop, and the hostile behavior of the host. Result: Airbnb closed my account without explaining the reason. I am requesting the reopening of my account. I am so certain that you have not reviewed all the documents I shared with you. If you had reviewed them, it would not be possible to make such a decision.
