Airbnb Wrongfully Demanding ₺18,000 for Hair Dryer Damage I Did Not Cause
On August 31, 2025, after my Airbnb stay in Istanbul, I was unfairly charged ₺18,000 for alleged damage to a hair dryer. The host claimed that a crack on the device was caused during my stay, but I never even used the hair dryer once, as I already own the exact same model with all the same functions at home. Holding me responsible for this crack is completely unreasonable, and the amount demanded is far from a fair or realistic price for such an item. I contacted Airbnb customer service regarding this issue and only received one written response confirming that I was not responsible for the damage. However, despite this confirmation, the system still shows that I owe the ₺18,000 payment, and no proper resolution has been provided. This is the first time I have faced such an unfair situation on Airbnb, and it has caused me unnecessary stress and frustration. I demand that the wrongful claim of ₺18,000 be canceled immediately and that my case be resolved without further delay.
