Agoda Unfair Charges and Data Breach Nightmare




I was waiting for my purchase from Atasun Optik to be delivered by cargo. On April 7, 2024, I received a message on my phone that my shipping address needed to be updated and I clicked on the link. On the screen that opened, it was written that my cargo could not be delivered because I was not at the address and that I had to pay a fee of 7 ₺ in order for the cargo to be redistributed. The message appeared to come from domestic cargo. Since I specified an official institution as the distribution address, I thought it was possible that they could not find me outside working hours, so I did not find the situation strange and went to the payment page by clicking the pay button on the page. I entered my card information, the amount on the payment page was shown as 7 ₺. I made the payment. My expenditure was reflected on my credit card as 27.328,40 ₺ and on my statement as if I had spent through AGODA. I wanted to contact AGODA to cancel the expenditure, but I could not connect to the customer representative because I did not actually have a reservation. Their systems are designed to connect to a customer representative only if you have a reservation. I objected to the expenditure through the bank, but they stated that since I entered my card information and approved the expenditure, it was not possible to cancel the expenditure, and that I could cancel the expenditure by contacting the company. When I tried to contact the company, I was told that it was not possible to connect to the customer representative because I did not have a reservation. Due to this incident, I had to cancel my card. Since I have not received any service and I do not have an invoice, I am presenting the screenshot of the expenditure for your information. Atasun Optik is at fault for not ensuring my data security, Yurtiçi Kargo is at fault for using its name in such a fraud example, and AGODA is at fault for making unfair profits in this way. I hereby request that the expenditure be refunded to my card and that my grievances be remedied.
