Agoda Refund Request After Misleading Hotel Images
For the dates November 22–23, 2025, I made a one-night reservation through Agoda at Istanbul Dora Hotel under the name Beyza C* (Reservation No: 1663694125). During the booking process, I selected a room described as a “Superior Triple”, which appeared in the photos as two separate rooms. However, when I contacted the property, I was informed that the room is actually a single room, not two separate ones. This clearly indicates that the photos and descriptions on Agoda’s website are misleading and inaccurate.
I paid a total of $76 by credit card. I reported the issue to Agoda customer service, but only received automated responses, and since no Turkish-language support is available, I couldn’t properly explain the situation. When I spoke with the hotel staff, they told me that my refund could be processed if Agoda initiates the cancellation. I also have screenshots of my conversations with the hotel as proof.
This was my first time booking through Agoda, and experiencing such a problem has been extremely disappointing. I request that my room be changed to match the two-room layout shown in the reservation or that I receive a full refund. Additionally, I ask that Agoda update the misleading room photos on its website to prevent similar issues for other customers.
