Agoda Refund Issue After Hotel Refuses Reservation at Booked Price

I made a reservation through Agoda.com for Side Mira Palace Hotel with check-in on April 26 and check-out on April 27, under reservation number 1721657289. The total reservation cost was approximately $25. Shortly after completing the booking—within about 5 to 10 minutes—I was contacted by the hotel via phone and informed that they could not honor the reservation at that price and had not systemically approved it. They then offered the same room at a significantly higher rate of around $80.

Despite the fact that I did not stay at the hotel and the hotel clearly stated that the reservation was not accepted, the amount of approximately $25 charged to my credit card has not been refunded. Charging for a service that was never provided creates a clear financial loss and violates basic consumer rights.

I have contacted Agoda customer service multiple times, but I have not received a clear or permanent resolution. Instead, the process has been delayed with repetitive and unhelpful responses. Given that the hotel explicitly confirmed they did not accept the reservation, it is unacceptable that no refund has been issued.

I request that the full amount of approximately $25 be refunded to my credit card immediately. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will proceed with formal legal action under consumer protection laws and escalate the matter to the relevant authorities.
