I was checking out options to book a stay at the Diamond of Bodrum hotel on Trivago, and it sent me over to Agoda, saying they had the best price. I was looking into installment options when I unexpectedly got an email confirming my reservation, even though I never got a 3D Secure verification code at any point. When we reached out to the hotel, they informed us that our reservation only included the room and breakfast, which made things even more frustrating. I need to cancel my reservation, but I can't seem to get in touch with a real person for support—just a chatbot. I got an email from Agoda saying they reached out to the hotel, but the hotel wouldn't approve the cancellation. When I talked to the hotel directly, they told me they never got that email and that if they had, they would have given a full refund. Even though the hotel gave the go-ahead, I wasn’t able to get in touch with anyone at Agoda, and they didn’t really help with the refund situation. The hotel was on board, but the booking platform dropped the ball on processing the refund and helping with the cancellation, which really let me down. I'm really annoyed that Trivago sent me to such an untrustworthy site when there are so many reliable booking options available. I wish I hadn't used Trivago, and I probably won't use it again.
