Aeroflot Damaged My Suitcase at Airport and Provided No Assistance



I flew from Moscow to Adana on June 22, 2024, and discovered that my suitcase was broken and scratched in several places. I called over an airport staff member, who took pictures of the damage with their phone and collected my contact details, promising to inform Aeroflot that same day.
However, because no report was submitted within 7 days, Aeroflot is now refusing to compensate me for the damaged suitcase. How could such a mistake happen, and why is no one taking responsibility? I’ve been left without any support, and I’m not sure who to turn to for help.
