On 16.04.2026 I was called by someone who introduced themselves with the bank’s name and, using banking transaction information, stated that they could convert the loan I had taken out one day earlier into an interest‑free loan if 24 hours had not yet passed. By directing me step by step through mobile banking, they had me take out new loans. They also said that they needed to get a reference from my spouse and in this way they had me take out a loan of ₺200,000 and use ₺40,000 from my overdraft account, and they had my spouse take out a loan of ₺455,000 through mobile banking. In total, ₺655,000 of individual loans and an additional ₺40,000 from my overdraft account were used and sent via EFT without our knowledge and against our will. During the bank’s voice confirmation, the usual questions such as whether the transaction belonged to me were asked and I confirmed, but when I was asked if I knew the person I pressed the “no” button. I clearly stated that I was a Yapı Kredi customer, that I had already taken out a loan one day earlier, that transactions were being carried out above our income, that we had not been called by our customer representative, and that there was a serious security and structure problem in the bank’s systems. My account is registered with Yapı Kredi Yedpa Branch and my spouse’s account is registered with Küçükyalı Branch, both in Istanbul, although there is no Yapı Kredi branch in the city where we live and all transactions were carried out via mobile banking. On the same day, we immediately reported that we had been defrauded to the bank and filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor’s office. We submitted our objection petition to the bank regarding these transactions through Yapı Kredi Elazığ Branch and also lodged a complaint with the BRSA. Despite this, we have not received any feedback or a concrete solution from the bank yet. We are already struggling with an existing housing loan debt and it is not possible for us to pay these fraudulent loan installments and overdraft debt. I believe that Yapı Kredi has a serious security vulnerability and that we, as customers, should not be held responsible for these fraudulent transactions carried out via mobile banking. For all these reasons, I request that all loans and overdraft debts arising from this fraud, totaling ₺655,000 in individual loans and ₺40,000 in overdraft usage, be completely canceled, that no interest or delay costs be charged to us, and that my and my spouse’s victimization be eliminated as soon as possible.
