Serious Complaint Regarding Xena: Locked Rooms, Sexualized Content
Dear Xena Management Team, I am a user of the Xena social voice-chat platform in Pakistan. Users can open rooms, communicate by voice, purchase coins, send virtual gifts, participate in rankings, play games and obtain VIP levels. I am writing to raise serious concerns that I believe require urgent attention. 1. Locked and Private Rooms I have personally observed a worrying situation involving locked rooms. These rooms require a password to enter, and the application encourages users to “ask the anchor to get the password.” I have personally listened to boys and girls engaging in explicit and sexualized conversations inside some of these locked rooms. Because these rooms are restricted from public access, inappropriate conversations may occur with limited visible moderation. I am not claiming that every locked room or every user behaves this way. However, the situation raises serious questions about moderation, age protection, user safety and platform responsibility. I respectfully request Xena to urgently review the locked-room system, strengthen moderation and supervision, improve reporting tools, and introduce faster intervention mechanisms for inappropriate behavior. 2. Youth Protection Young and vulnerable users may be exposed to inappropriate conversations, sexualized behavior, adult-oriented games, flirting and other content that may not be suitable for them. The platform should have strong age-appropriate protections, effective moderation and clear rules for private rooms to prevent harmful interactions. 3. Virtual Gifting and Excessive Spending Xena users purchase coins with real money and use them for virtual gifts, rankings and VIP levels. Gifting competitions, social pressure, popularity and VIP status may encourage some users to spend more than they originally intended. A few hundred rupees may seem small, but repeated spending can become thousands or even hundreds of thousands of rupees. This raises an important economic question: How much are Pakistani users spending on virtual gifting, and how much of this revenue ultimately remains within Pakistan? If Xena is operated by a foreign company, some revenue may ultimately flow to entities outside Pakistan depending on corporate structure, payment processing, taxes, commissions and revenue-sharing arrangements. I am not claiming that all money leaves Pakistan; I am requesting transparency regarding these financial flows. 4. Financial and Social Impact Money spent excessively on virtual gifts could otherwise support education, professional skills, agriculture, businesses, savings, family expenses and productive investment. The concern is not about banning Xena. It is about responsible spending, financial awareness and protecting users from excessive social or emotional pressure. 5. Transparency and Accountability I respectfully request Xena to provide clearer information and stronger measures regarding: • Locked/private-room moderation • Age verification and youth protection • Sexualized and inappropriate content • Reporting and investigation procedures • Virtual coin pricing and gifting systems • VIP and ranking mechanisms • Spending limits and warnings • Protection against emotional or financial manipulation • Clear account-restriction and appeal procedures Digital privacy should never become a shield for harmful behavior. Xena can provide entertainment and social interaction, but users deserve an environment that is safe, responsible and properly moderated. Pakistan's youth are an important social and economic asset. Their money, time, attention, dignity and future should be protected. I respectfully request Xena management to investigate these concerns seriously and explain what concrete measures are being taken to protect Pakistani users. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, Muhammad M***
