Received Suspicious WhatsApp Message from +27 (South Africa); Privacy Concerned
On November 8, 2024, I received an unexpected WhatsApp message from a number with the +27 country code, which I found out is associated with South Africa. The message simply read "hii." I am highly concerned as I have no personal or business connections with South Africa, and this message seemed completely unsolicited. I have since blocked the sender's number.
I’m formally stating that I am not responsible for any potential misuse of my account details or phone number. If my personal information, messages, or photos are compromised, or if my details are used to create a company, make purchases, or incur debt in my name, I will not accept any liability. I hold WhatsApp fully accountable for safeguarding my information. This experience has been disturbing, and I urge WhatsApp to take immediate action to protect users' privacy from such incidents.
