Wego Confirmed My Ticket but I Was Denied Boarding Due to a Name Error

On May 11, 2026, I purchased a SunExpress ticket through Wego for flight XQ9122 from Izmir (ADB) to Diyarbakir (DIY), scheduled to depart at 5:40 AM on May 13, 2026. The reservation reference number was WFV52797CNN26. A total of $94 was charged to my credit card, and I received an official confirmation email stating that my ticket had been successfully issued and that no further action was required on my part.
When I arrived at the airport on the morning of the flight and attempted to check in, I was informed by the airline representative that the name on my ticket appeared as “St T. C.” instead of my actual name, “Süleyman Tülcü.” Because of this apparent system-generated abbreviation, I was denied boarding and was unable to take my flight. Despite having fully paid for the ticket and receiving an official booking confirmation, I was prevented from traveling solely because of an error originating from the ticketing or reservation system.
This is clearly a technical and operational failure. If the name format shown on the ticket was not acceptable under airline rules, the booking should never have been confirmed in the first place, and my payment should not have been processed. It is unacceptable for a consumer to bear the consequences of a system or software error caused by the service provider.
After the incident, I repeatedly attempted to contact Wego customer support. However, I was unable to receive assistance in Turkish. I was repeatedly directed to automated systems operating in Arabic and English and could not reach a representative capable of resolving the issue. During this process, the amount charged to my card remained unavailable, and I missed my planned business trip, causing significant disruption to my schedule and professional commitments.
As a result of this incident, I request an immediate and full refund of the $94 ticket price without any deductions. In addition, because the trip was canceled due to your system error and because I lost valuable time and business opportunities, I request reasonable compensation. Specifically, I ask that a replacement round-trip ticket between Izmir and Diyarbakir be provided, or that an equivalent form of compensation be offered to address the losses and inconvenience I experienced.
I expect my legitimate request to be handled urgently and ask that written confirmation regarding the refund and compensation process be provided to me as soon as possible.
