WeChat Sent Me 5 Verification Codes Without My Permission

Although I do not use the WeChat app and have never registered for it, I received five consecutive SMS messages containing WeChat verification codes within approximately 15 minutes today. The fact that the messages were labeled “WeChat” and arrived so frequently has raised serious concerns that someone may be attempting to perform an unauthorized action using my Turkcell phone number.

Receiving verification codes from an app I have never used has made me concerned about the security of my phone number and personal information. I am worried that my number may have been linked to a WeChat account without my knowledge or consent, misused by third parties, or used to carry out some type of unauthorized activity.

I request that WeChat urgently investigate these verification messages sent to my phone and determine whether someone is attempting to create an account or perform any action using my number. If an account has been created or an attempt has been made to create one using my number, or if any transaction or other action has been attempted, I request that it be immediately and permanently disabled. I also request that my phone number be completely blocked from being used for WeChat registration or login attempts. In addition, I request clear written information about how my personal information and phone number appear in WeChat's systems and the results of the investigation into this incident.

The last four digits of the GSM number concerned are 7003.
