My 2022 Volvo XC40's Console Screen Died - Now They Want Me to Pay for Repairs

May 24, 2024 10:52 AM14

Hello,
I own a 2022 Volvo XC40, which I purchased second-hand. After not starting the car for a week while I was out of town, the front console screen flickered on and off when I turned on the ignition, then stopped working entirely. I live in Tokat, and the nearest service center is Otokoç Volvo in Samsun, so my car was towed there. After inspection, they informed me that the front console screen had burned out and would need to be replaced once the part arrived. They said I could continue using the car and returned it to me, as I'm disabled and a loaner car wasn't suitable.
However, two days later, Samsun Volvo Otokoç called to say that Volvo would cover only 30% of the repair cost, and I'd need to pay the rest. The car's warranty expired just two months ago. I imported this car as a vehicle for the disabled. Now they're trying to charge me for what seems to be a chronic issue with the model. I've researched online and found many similar complaints. My car only has 34,000 km on it, and I can't understand why a reputable brand is giving me such a hard time. I'm requesting that Volvo headquarters resolve this issue.
