Vimeo Blocks Plus Downgrade and Restricts Access to Uploaded Files
I was previously a Vimeo Plus subscriber, but last year I upgraded to Pro because I had a specific short-term need for some of the Pro features. Other than that temporary need, there is no reason for me to continue using the Pro plan. However, when Vimeo attempted to charge $144 to my credit card, my bank flagged the transaction as suspicious and blocked it. My bank contacted me, and we ended up canceling and replacing the card.
I want to switch my account back to the Plus subscription and continue using Vimeo by paying for the Plus plan. However, Vimeo is not allowing me to do this. It has also restricted my access to files that I have already uploaded. In other words, Vimeo appears to be refusing to let me use my account normally unless it collects the amount it is demanding. By restricting access to my files as well, it feels as though I am being punished simply because I do not want to continue with a Pro subscription that I no longer need.
Is there really no way to get around this heavy-handed restriction? I am willing to pay for a Plus subscription and continue using Vimeo, but I do not believe I should be forced to pay for a Pro plan that I no longer need just to regain access to my own uploaded files.
