UPS Says It Was Delivered But Wasn't
I am writing regarding my UPS shipment with tracking number 1Z822A3W4250105619, which was supposed to be delivered to an address in Fernandina Beach, Florida. According to the tracking information, the package was marked as delivered the next day, but no one was at the address at that time and no delivery was actually received. UPS states that a note was left on the door and the package was then taken back to a holding facility and kept there for seven days. However, the recipient did not see any delivery notice or note on the door at any time. UPS had all of my contact information as well as the recipient’s and could easily have reached out by phone, email, or text, yet no attempt was made to notify either of us about the failed delivery or the seven‑day holding period. I contacted UPS customer service and, after being on hold for about 10 minutes, I spoke with a representative. At first, he told me he could not help me. When I mentioned that I would be filing a formal complaint, he put me on hold again. When he came back on the line, he claimed he could not hear me and then hung up. My phone was working properly, I could hear him clearly, and I am convinced he could also hear me, which made this experience even more frustrating and unprofessional. Given these issues, I request that the shipment be redelivered at no additional charge, including the original insured amount, and that UPS take responsibility for the lack of proper notification and the poor customer service I experienced.
