UPS Kept My Amazon USA Order Stuck in Customs and Gave No Return Info
I ordered 2 items from Amazon USA. One item was delivered to me by another carrier, but the other is stuck in customs in Istanbul. UPS sent me an email asking me to pay an extra ₺1200 for “odino,” which I was willing to pay. However, when I managed to reach their difficult customer service number and spoke with two different representatives, I was given conflicting information. I was told I did not need to pay ₺1200, but instead had to obtain a notary public document for them to release this $21 product. Getting such a document would cost between $3000–$4000 and involve a huge hassle. After discussing with Amazon, I decided to return the product and informed UPS to provide me with all the return details. Of course, it has now been 5 days and I have not received any instructions or tracking information. I am convinced they will not return it and that some employee will end up keeping my product, which should have been delivered since I already paid shipping and import fees.
